Montevideo

Montevideo Montevideo plays the role of a logistics hub in the region. Since it was founded, its port has been the most important in the Río de la Plata.

The capital still preserves remnants of the Colonial period. The Old City keeps parts of that history, and it maintains several iconic buildings as witnesses of that era, i.e., the port of Montevideo, the ancient City Hall (Cabildo), the main cathedral (Iglesia Matriz) and the gateway to the old city (Puerta de la Ciudadela).

Furthermore, the city also cherishes valuable architectural treasures built in the XX Century, surrounded by the splendor of the capital’s coastal avenue: the Salvo Palace (Palacio Salvo), the Parliament Building (Palacio Legislativo), Pitamiglio’s Castle, the Railway Station, the Centenario Stadium, the Carrasco Hotel and the Parque Hotel building, among others.
